Anarcho-capitalism (my preferred variant) doesn't require either the auspices or the protection of the state…,

I suspect that for the longest time now, you'll be witness to the emergence and overt activity of non-state actors, so-called terrorists and members of the drug meta-economy being the first and most prominent exponents. There's a better than even chance of the outbreak of civil war in Mexico sometime late next year.

The popular drive to find an easy score seems to be the root of all these evils. I don't quite see how daycare fits in, but Madoff and all of this investors were looking for something from nothing. South Carolina doesn't invest in education. Why should we be surprised that the state is intellectually and culturally bereft? I've family in South Carolina, and I don't know what it would take for me to move there. Lastly, nothing characterizes the quick score more than the way the drug trade is marketed to kids.

People with a strong sense of self, are willing to work, do due diligence and live within their means will survive all the vagaries listed.
