Back on the block. I’m teaching Urban Politics this semester. First time in a few years. The first day is usually a give the syllabus send them home type of day, but I wanted to deal with the big questions. So I started with two youtube videos (last time I taught the class youtube didn’t exist):
The first I got from my man K.O.:
[kml_flashembed movie="http://youtube.com/v/vUbsw28PCpA" width="425" height="350" wmode="transparent" /]
The second I got looking to find something to juxtapose the first with:
[kml_flashembed movie="http://youtube.com/v/vE21mRGXpdY" width="425" height="350" wmode="transparent" /]
These videos work to drive home very specific images of Detroit, but also specific ideas about what cities were designed for.
The syllabus for those who want to follow along.
Hey Lester.
I’m just now seeing this post, man, so this thanks is coming way late. But thank you very much for the nod, it’s much appreciated. And I’m glad you found those videos worth sharing.
Have a good one, my brother.
