There’s a meme that’s been going around black communities at least as long as black people have been organizing against white supremacy, blaming black failure on self-hatred. If we were to just “unify.” If we were able to somehow figure out how to get over “willie lynchism.” And inevitably, someone gets around to talking about people who do it right.
Around this point in the conversation, if you live in and around Detroit, Chaldeans come up. If you live around L.A., Koreans might come up. If you live around NYC Jews probably come up.

Yeah man, I’m gonna have to check this oen out. I just heard a brotha making the argument that Jewish folks were unified. To which I told him in every community there is division! Now I can give him a cite.
