Nice piece, way to bring in the IAT. Do you think the IAT is reliable enough to be used as a metric of “removing” officers? And are you aware of trainings that can reduce implicit biases?
there’s some research that i’ve heard of, probably through prometheus6 that shows that implicit biases CAN be reduced. and i think the IAT is probably not reliable enough to remove officers, but it is likely reliable enough to screen candidates at the early stages.
