On Ill Doctrine, Brother Ali talks about writer’s block.

I remember the first time I encountered soul searing, not gonna get a job, going to have to hustle to feed my family, type writer’s block. I was dissertating, and at some point, probably in the second or third chapter, I was like “I don’t know what the hell I’m doing. What am I supposed to be saying?” I was scared for more than a minute, but I fought through it. Only to have to wrestle with it again later. Then again after that.

After that third time, I realized it was part of the process. And I came up with a trick to get through it–I’d listen to that voice, and write any way. What do you do?
